Step into a rewarding opportunity supporting students in the Chattanooga area as a school-based Speech-Language Pathologist. This full-time, contract role begins in early August and extends through May of the following year, offering a 35-hour work week in a dynamic educational setting. Assignments will involve collaborating across one or more campuses, with caseloads and specific age groups to be confirmed—historically, these positions have supported elementary-aged students.
Essential Qualifications:
- Current, active SLP license
- State DOE certification as a Speech-Language Pathologist
- Experience in school-based speech services preferred, especially with elementary student populations
- Strong interpersonal and communication capabilities to work effectively as part of an interdisciplinary educational team
- Commitment to meeting district credentialing requirements, including timely completion of fingerprinting and compliance tasks
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess and provide speech and language therapy services to students, adapting interventions to meet individual goals
- Collaborate with educators, families, and special education teams to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Maintain accurate records, comply with state and district guidelines, and participate in professional development activities
- Flexibly manage caseloads as assigned, demonstrating adaptability to varying school settings and student needs
- Encourage an inclusive, positive environment that supports student progress and celebrates communication milestones
