The caseload focuses on 50 elementary students, with a significant emphasis on augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) in a self-contained classroom environment.
Desired Qualifications:
- ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) required
- Current state licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist
- Minimum of 3 years of school-based SLP experience, which is essential for consideration
- Demonstrated expertise with AAC devices and strategies, especially within self-contained classrooms
- Strong collaboration, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to deliver compassionate, evidence-based services to diverse student populations
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct speech-language therapy for students, targeting individualized education plan (IEP) goals
- Assess communication strengths and needs, including complex AAC requirements
- Document progress, maintain records, and participate in IEP meetings
- Collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to support student growth
- Develop and implement communication programs in both group and one-on-one settings
