School-Based Speech Language Pathologist | Oak Park, Illinois
Step into a rewarding opportunity supporting young learners as a part-time Speech-Language Pathologist within an engaging early childhood program. This contract role offers a consistent schedule of 2.5 days per week (18 hours) across the full school year, allowing you to make a meaningful impact on developing communication skills in early learners.
In addition to this ongoing assignment, there are also two full-time elementary maternity leave coverage opportunities available: one from August through October, and another from August through December. These short-term roles are an excellent chance to expand your experience in a dynamic elementary environment while collaborating closely with dedicated educators and families.
Desired Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- Active SLP-CCC credential
- Previous experience in school settings preferred
- Familiarity with early childhood communication development and interventions
- Excellent communication, organization, and collaboration skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess, diagnose, and provide individualized therapy for students with speech, language, and communication needs within the early childhood program
- Develop and implement IEPs in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
- Track and document student progress, maintaining accurate records in compliance with all requirements
- Work closely with families and teachers to support carryover of strategies and program goals
- Provide direct and consultative services to children, staff, and families in both the part-time and maternity leave positions
