School Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) | Newark, Delaware
Step into a rewarding, contract-based opportunity supporting high school students as a speech-language pathologist. Work with a caseload of approximately 17-24 students in grades 9-12, providing essential speech and language services that make a real difference in their academic and social lives. This role offers part-time, flexible hours—estimated at 15-18 hours per week within the school’s operating hours of 7:30am to 3:00pm—with an anticipated assignment beginning around September 8, 2026, and concluding June 1, 2027. Start date is flexible to suit your availability.
Your key responsibilities will involve delivering mostly small group direct therapy, a mix of individualized and consultative services, participating actively in IEP meetings, and taking charge of progress monitoring and goal writing.
Ideal candidates possess:
- Licensure and credentials as a Speech-Language Pathologist eligible for work in schools
- Experience providing services within a high school setting or similar environment
- Familiarity with IEP processes, from writing and monitoring goals to contributing in meetings
- Strong communication and organizational skills to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
- Ability to support both group and individual student needs efficiently
Expect to engage in:
- Leading group language and communication interventions
- Offering one-on-one and consultative therapy as needed
- Maintaining thorough documentation and progress reports for IEP compliance
- Partnering with teachers, families, and staff to create supportive learning environments
Compensation for this position ranges from $45 to $55 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
