School Speech Language Pathologist - New Orleans, Louisiana
Exciting opportunity for a skilled Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to make a meaningful impact in an elementary school setting near New Orleans, LA. This contract position offers a chance to work onsite with a committed student caseload. The role runs from an ASAP start through the end of November, with hours totaling 37.5 per week. You will support 50-60 students at Schaumberg Elementary, collaborating closely with staff, families, and other specialists to help students reach their communication goals.
Desired Skills and Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Disorders
- Current CCC-SLP credential; open to Clinical Fellows (CF) and SLP Assistants (SLPA)
- Strong knowledge of school-based speech and language services
- Ability to effectively manage a caseload of 50-60 students
- Experience collaborating within interdisciplinary teams
- Excellent communication, organization, and documentation skills
- Flexibility to adapt and engage in a dynamic school setting
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments and develop individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Provide direct speech and language therapy to K-5 students
- Work collaboratively with teachers, support staff, and families
- Document student progress and maintain compliance with all evaluation and reporting requirements
- Offer consultation and professional insights to school team members as needed
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to a positive learning environment
This is a fully onsite position, providing consistent interaction and hands-on support for students and staff. The school welcomes applicants from a variety of SLP backgrounds, including CFs and SLPAs.
