Step into a rewarding school-based opportunity supporting K-2nd grade students as a Speech-Language Pathologist. This contract position offers a full-time schedule throughout the school year in a dynamic educational setting near New Britain, CT. Make a meaningful difference working with young learners while also guiding and supervising a Clinical Fellow (CF) and a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA).
Requirements for this position include:
- Current Connecticut SLP license with CCC credentials (CT SLP CCC)
- Strong clinical background with sufficient experience to supervise a CF and SLPA
- Prior school-based SLP experience, especially with early elementary students, highly valued
- Thorough understanding of IEP development, therapy documentation, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
- Excellent communication, organization, and mentoring skills
What you'll be doing:
- Manage a caseload of K-2nd grade students, providing direct speech-language therapy and evaluations
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to address communication disorders
- Work closely with teachers, families, and staff to foster student progress and participation
- Supervise and support a Clinical Fellow and an SLPA, ensuring compliance with all standards and promoting professional growth
- Participate in IEP meetings, assessments, and school-wide initiatives as an integral member of the educational team
