School Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) | Naperville, Illinois
Seeking an experienced Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP-CCC) for an exciting contract opportunity supporting students ages kindergarten through 22 at a private therapeutic day school in the Elgin, IL area. This part-time role offers a flexible, engaging schedule: work 21 hours per week across three days (typically Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday), with potential for additional hours. Hours fall between 8am and 3pm to provide a healthy work-life balance.
Ideal candidates hold current ASHA certification (CCC), have experience working in school settings, and demonstrate comfort managing a range of student abilities and ages. This site requires an SLP with full credentials to perform evaluations and supervise students—SLPA credentials are not accepted for this assignment.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- Current ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC)
- Issued and active state SLP license
- Previous experience in K-12 or transition-age therapeutic/educational environments
- Strong evaluation, diagnosis, and documentation skills
- Ability to collaborate with teachers, staff, and families
Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments, develop and implement IEPs, and deliver direct therapy
- Serve as a key contributor at multidisciplinary meetings
- Provide expert oversight for students requiring more complex interventions
- Maintain thorough records and timely progress reporting in compliance with school and state standards
- Communicate with families and support staff to advance student outcomes
