Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) in Chicago, IL
Step into a vital support role within a respected private therapeutic day school serving students from kindergarten through age 22. This is an excellent opportunity for an SLP who holds the Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) and is passionate about delivering specialized speech-language services in a flexible, part-time capacity.
You’ll provide direct services, assessments, and necessary oversight—making a meaningful difference for learners with diverse communication needs. The position is structured for 21 hours weekly across three days, typically Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, with working hours generally falling between 8:00 am and 2:30 or 3:00 pm. There’s some flexibility in schedule, and the potential to increase your weekly hours as service needs arise. The contract extends from as soon as possible through May 28th, 2027.
Desired Qualifications:
- Current ASHA certification (CCC) is required; candidates with only SLPA credentials will not be considered
- Experience working in a school or therapeutic day school setting is strongly preferred
- Familiarity with a broad K-22 caseload, including students with significant needs and diverse backgrounds
- Proficiency in conducting comprehensive speech-language evaluations and developing IEP goals
- Strong organizational, communication, and documentation skills
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct speech and language therapy services
- Conduct evaluations and produce service documentation in accordance with IEP requirements
- Collaborate with educators, therapists, and families on individualized plans
- Maintain compliance with all state and federal guidelines
