School-Based Speech Language Pathologist | Metairie, Louisiana

Put your expertise to work supporting students at an elementary level during a critical period of the school year. This contract assignment offers a chance to serve a diverse group of learners and gain valuable school-based experience in a dynamic educational environment. You'll fill in during a maternity leave from mid-September through the end of November, working full-time onsite with a welcoming and collaborative team.
Key Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- Valid SLP license (CCC preferred, but Clinical Fellows are also welcome)
- Prior experience in an educational or pediatric setting a plus
- Strong understanding of IEP process, progress monitoring, and data collection
- Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
- Comfort adapting to a large, varied caseload (expect 50-60 students)
Essential Responsibilities:
- Deliver speech-language services to elementary-aged students, addressing a wide range of disorders and communication needs
- Conduct evaluations, write reports, and help craft IEPs
- Collaborate closely with teachers, families, and multidisciplinary teams to foster student success
- Maintain thorough, timely documentation compliant with school and district requirements
- Flexibly manage priorities, addressing both scheduled sessions and emergent needs
- Provide consultative support to staff and coaching for strategies in the classroom as needed
