Position Overview

The Yuba County Office of Education is seeking a qualified Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to provide comprehensive speech and language services to students in a school-based setting. The SLP will support students with communication disorders that impact educational performance and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure students receive appropriate services in accordance with federal and state regulations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
-Conduct speech-language screenings, assessments, and evaluations.
-Interpret assessment results and prepare written reports.
-Determine eligibility for speech-language services in accordance with state and federal guidelines.
-Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals and objectives.
-Provide direct and indirect speech-language therapy services to students.
-Maintain accurate service logs, progress reports, and required documentation.
-Participate in IEP meetings, eligibility meetings, and multidisciplinary team discussions.
-Collaborate with teachers, administrators, psychologists, occupational therapists, physical therapists, and parents/guardians.
-Consult with educational staff regarding communication strategies, accommodations, and interventions.
-Monitor student progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.
-Support compliance with IDEA, California Education Code, and district policies.
-Complete Medicaid/Medi-Cal billing documentation as required.
-Provide recommendations for assistive technology and augmentative/alternative communication (AAC) when appropriate.
-Maintain confidentiality of student records and information.

Minimum Qualifications

Candidates must meet California requirements for school-based speech-language pathologists, including:

-Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
-Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association preferred.
-Knowledge of special education regulations, IDEA, and IEP processes.

Preferred Qualifications
-Previous school-based experience.
-Experience working with diverse student populations and disabilities.
-Familiarity with AAC systems and assistive technology.
-Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.

Compensation and Benefits: 

Hourly pay based off of experience ranging from $45-$55/hr.
