School Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) | Byfield, Massachusetts
Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting elementary students as a Speech-Language Pathologist. This flexible role takes place at Salisbury Elementary, working with grades 3-6, where you’ll conduct assessments, deliver therapy, and contribute to IEP development. The position spans the full academic year, beginning in September, with the potential to start a bit earlier for orientation if desired. You’ll enjoy a consistent schedule of two days per week (13 hours total), with school hours from 8:15 to 3:15 and a half-hour lunch break.
Key qualifications and experience:
- Valid Massachusetts SLP License and MA DESE License are required
- ASHA CCC-SLP or Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) eligibility
- Previous school-based SLP experience is advantageous, especially with IEPs and elementary-age children
- Familiarity with conducting speech and language testing, therapy, and IEP goal development/documentation
- Team-oriented attitude, strong communication skills, and a student-centered approach
Primary responsibilities:
- Deliver speech and language therapy for students in grades 3-6
- Perform comprehensive evaluations and assessments as required
- Write and update IEPs, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams
- Document progress, attend relevant meetings, and participate in indirect/administrative activities (admin time is offered)
- Collaborate with school staff to support students’ academic and social success
This assignment offers an inviting work environment with dedicated space for therapy, training on the district’s IEP system, and supportive team collaboration. Administrative tasks and team meeting time are provided, allowing you to focus on quality care for students. Interviews are conducted via Zoom for your convenience.
