School Speech Language Pathologist - Lexington, SC
Embark on a rewarding contract opportunity providing speech-language pathology support for students in a vibrant educational environment just outside of Lexington, SC. Two full-time positions are available, each offering 37.5 hours per week, with assignments running from ASAP through May 28th, 2027. Your expertise will be valued across one or possibly two school sites, with mileage reimbursement for any required travel.
You’ll have the chance to make a meaningful impact with elementary and secondary students. Assignments are flexible, tailored to your experience and the evolving needs of each campus. The majority of caseloads will likely include a few self-contained classrooms, ensuring a diverse and engaging professional experience. While you’ll typically be the only SLP at your site, you’ll have ongoing access to a lead SLP and a supportive team when you need guidance. Familiarity with Medicaid billing is essential, and Clinical Fellow (CF) applications will be considered, though preference is given to experienced candidates.
Desired skills and experience:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
- Active SLP licensure applicable to the assignment location
- Prior school-based SLP experience preferred
- Competence with Medicaid billing procedures
- Flexibility to work with varied ages and disabilities
- Ability to organize caseload and manage time efficiently
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Clinical Fellows considered, though experienced SLPs strongly preferred
Key responsibilities:
- Assess, diagnose, and provide individualized speech-language services for students
- Collaborate with educational staff to develop and implement IEP goals
- Maintain detailed records and complete Medicaid billing documentation
- Provide support and guidance for staff and families regarding student needs
- Participate in team meetings and professional development when possible
