School-Based Speech Language Pathologist - Columbia, South Carolina
Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students’ communication needs in school environments near Columbia, SC. This position offers two full-time roles (37.5 hours/week) available immediately through May 28, 2027, serving one or possibly two school sites (elementary or secondary, with caseload determined by your experience and preference). Mileage between sites will be reimbursed.
You’ll provide speech-language pathology services within self-contained and general education settings. Most schools have varied caseloads and include a few classrooms that support students with diverse needs. While you will often be the primary SLP onsite, you’ll enjoy ongoing collaboration and guidance from experienced lead SLPs and district support.
Desired Skills & Experience:
- Valid state licensure in Speech-Language Pathology and active CCC-SLP; strong candidates in their Clinical Fellowship will also be considered
- Previous experience in school-based SLP positions preferred
- Comfortable working across different age groups and disabilities, with adaptability to caseload needs
- Ability to manage Medicaid billing and required documentation
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct screenings, evaluations, and develop intervention plans for students with a range of communication disorders
- Deliver direct and consultative SLP services in alignment with students’ IEP goals
- Collaborate with educators, families, and support staff to maximize student success
- Maintain timely and accurate documentation, including compliance with Medicaid reporting requirements
- Participate in student support meetings and professional development as needed
