Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Holds a Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
- Valid SLP-CCC (Certificate of Clinical Competence) required
- State licensure in Louisiana or eligibility to obtain
- Experience in a school-based setting, especially with middle school students, strongly preferred
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to foster a supportive and engaging environment for students
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess, diagnose, and develop individual therapy plans for students with speech, language, and communication needs
- Deliver direct and consultative speech-language services, utilizing evidence-based practices
- Collaborate closely with teachers, parents, and multidisciplinary teams to support student success
- Document student progress, maintain accurate records, and participate in IEP meetings
- Educate and guide staff and families regarding strategies for supporting communication development
- Adapt activities and materials to meet the diverse needs of 5th through 8th-grade students
