Embark on a rewarding contract opportunity working with students from two high schools and one elementary school, providing essential speech and language services throughout the academic year. This full-time position offers a thoughtfully structured split schedule, with half the week spent at Westmoreland campus focused on special education, and the remainder supporting social skills at the Lane schools.

You’ll be shaping the communication abilities and overall well-being of about 33 students, primarily within life skills programs. While specialized experience in feeding and swallowing (safe eating), as well as alternative augmentative communication (AAC), is highly valued, training is available for candidates eager to expand their expertise in these areas.

Key Qualifications and Experience:

  • Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology and valid SLP-CCC
  • Eligibility for appropriate state licensure
  • Experience in school-based SLP settings strongly preferred
  • Interest or background in life skills, feeding and swallowing, or AAC a plus
  • Strong collaboration skills with educators, paraprofessionals, and related service providers

Core Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct interventions and develop individualized goals for students within life skills programming
  • Assess communication, feeding, and swallowing needs, adapting AAC supports as necessary
  • Maintain detailed documentation of student progress and program effectiveness
  • Collaborate regularly with school staff, related specialists, and participate in monthly virtual SLP team meetings
  • Champion safe and inclusive communication environments, promoting social engagement

You’ll enjoy a professional setting with a supportive team of 12 SLPs offering ongoing guidance and development opportunities. All responsibilities are performed on-site only—no virtual or hybrid options—giving you the chance to build meaningful, consistent relationships with your students and colleagues.

Help students find their voices and thrive! If you have a passion for making a difference and a desire to grow in your SLP career, apply today to start a fulfilling journey this coming school year.
