School Speech Language Pathologist - Joliet, Illinois
Make a difference in a vibrant school setting as a Speech-Language Pathologist supporting elementary students, primarily working with the STARS program. This full-time, contract position follows a Monday through Friday schedule from 8:45 am to 4:00 pm (including a 30-minute lunch). Qualifications & Experience:
- Current Illinois SLP license and certifications required
- SLP-CCC credential preferred
- Previous experience in school-based settings highly valued
- Comfortable managing a caseload of approximately 40 elementary students
- Knowledge or experience supporting students with special needs, especially in intensive intervention programs (such as STARS)
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams
- Commitment to creating an inclusive, nurturing environment for all students
Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct and consultative speech-language therapy to a diverse elementary caseload
- Provide services primarily to students enrolled in the STARS program
- Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop individualized education program (IEP) goals
- Maintain accurate therapy logs and documentation in compliance with school guidelines
- Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and families to optimize student outcomes
- Participate in IEP meetings, parent conferences, and professional development as required
- Foster student growth, communication, and confidence through creative and evidence-based practices
