Pediatric School Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) | Joliet, Illinois
Step into an impactful role providing speech-language pathology services within an engaging school environment for the full academic year. This contract, full-time opportunity places you at the forefront of student support, serving two school sites with diverse caseloads across K-8 grade levels.
Ideal candidates bring expertise in assessment, diagnosis, and intervention for speech and language disorders, with a passion for making a measurable difference in student success. You’ll work closely with dedicated educators and families to design individualized treatment plans for a caseload of 49 students in grades K-3 at one elementary location, and 53 students in grades 4-8 across two additional schools.
Preferred Qualifications & Experience:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) or Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) in progress
- Valid state licensure for SLP services in educational settings
- Proven track record with pediatric or school-based populations
- Experience providing therapy via teletherapy platforms, as well as face-to-face sessions
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with students, families, and staff
Responsibilities Will Include:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Deliver direct and consultative speech and language therapy for elementary and upper grade students
- Maintain detailed documentation and track student progress toward IEP goals
- Participate in IEP meetings, parent conferences, and multidisciplinary team collaborations
- Adapt therapy techniques for individual, small group, and teletherapy settings as needed
- Provide support and consultation to teachers and parents to facilitate carryover of therapy strategies
