An exciting opportunity awaits to utilize your expertise in speech-language pathology within a supportive school environment this summer. This contract position is near Des Plaines, IL, and focuses on providing dedicated SLP services to a caseload of approximately 15 students. The assignment runs from June 8th through July 2nd, offering a set summer schedule with meaningful student impact.
Schedule details:
- June 8th: 8:00 am – 2:00 pm
- June 9th – July 2nd: 8:00 am – 12:15 pm
Desired skills and qualifications:
- ASHA certification (CCC-SLP) or eligibility
- Valid state licensure in speech-language pathology to practice in Illinois
- Previous school-based or pediatric SLP experience highly preferred
- Comfortable with both direct treatment and IEP documentation
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities
- Ability to adapt services to a varied caseload
Key responsibilities:
- Deliver speech and language therapy to students in accordance with their IEPs
- Conduct assessments and update progress reports as needed
- Participate in interdisciplinary meetings when required
- Maintain thorough records and documentation of services
- Communicate effectively with teachers, families, and support staff
- Create a nurturing environment that encourages student progress
