School Speech Language Pathologist - Independence, Missouri
Step into a rewarding school-based Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) role at a respected high school serving students in grades 9–12. This full-time opportunity, set in an engaging educational environment, runs from August 25, 2026, through May 27, 2027, with on-site hours from 9:00am to 4:40pm, Monday through Friday.
As an SLP, you’ll collaborate with educators, administrators, and families to help students improve their communication skills for academic and social success.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Hold a valid Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) license
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) required
- Previous school-based SLP experience is highly desirable
- Strong understanding of IEP processes and compliance
- Ability to build rapport with high school students
- Excellent communication, documentation, and organizational skills
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct speech and language therapy to students in accordance with IEP goals
- Conduct assessments, develop IEPs, maintain thorough documentation, and track student progress
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, teachers, and families to support student needs
- Deliver progress reports to staff and families as required by school and district guidelines
- Participate in student support meetings, parent conferences, and campus-wide initiatives
- Contribute expertise to workshops or trainings for staff on speech and language topics
