Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) in Independence, MO

Step into a rewarding opportunity supporting high school students as a Speech-Language Pathologist in a dynamic and collaborative educational environment. This contract role, based near Independence, MO, begins late August and continues through the end of May 2027, offering full-time hours on campus at a vibrant high school. Working from 9:00am to 4:40pm Monday through Friday, you'll play a key role in helping students reach their communication goals.
Key Qualifications:
- Holds a current, active Speech-Language Pathology (SLP) license
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP)
- Previous experience working in a school setting, especially at the secondary level, is highly valued
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with an enthusiasm for building rapport with students and faculty
- Organized, reliable, and able to manage a diverse caseload efficiently
- Ability to work onsite throughout the contract period
- Passion for supporting student growth and fostering a positive learning environment
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide direct speech and language therapy services to high school students on an individual or group basis
- Conduct assessments, write comprehensive evaluations, and develop individualized plans (IEPs)
- Collaborate closely with teachers, staff, and families to support student success
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of services, progress, and outcomes
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute expertise on speech and language needs
- Engage students with creative, evidence-based strategies to promote communication skills development
