Speech Language Pathologist in Huntingtown, MD
Step into a rewarding role serving K-12 students as a Speech-Language Pathologist in a supportive school-based environment. This contract position runs from August 13, 2026, through June 3, 2027, offering a consistent weekday schedule of 35 hours per week (7-hour days). Qualifications and Preferred Background:
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Sciences and Disorders
- Valid state licensure or eligibility as a Speech-Language Pathologist
- Clinical Competence Certificate (SLP-CCC) or Clinical Fellowship Year (SLP-CFY) candidates welcome
- Previous school-based SLP experience preferred, but clinical rotation experience in schools will be considered
- Strong communication, organizational, and collaboration skills
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct speech and language therapy to students from kindergarten to 12th grade
- Develop individualized education plans (IEPs) and document student progress per guidelines
- Administer standardized assessments and contribute to eligibility determination processes
- Collaborate with teachers, families, and interdisciplinary teams to support student success
- Offer support, strategies, and consultation in inclusive and small-group settings
- Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and parent conferences as needed
