School Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) | Hayward, California
Make a meaningful impact supporting students’ communication needs in an onsite, contract position near Hayward, CA. You’ll work in an elementary school setting, providing vital services for a caseload of approximately 50 students, with particular focus on those in a self-contained classroom with significant Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) requirements.
This assignment spans from as soon as possible through June 16, 2027, with a consistent weekly schedule totaling 32.5 hours. As a key support for students and staff, your expertise will help facilitate effective learning and participation.
Qualifications and Experience
- Hold a current and valid Speech-Language Pathology (SLP-CCC) license
- Minimum of three years’ Speech-Language Pathology experience in a school-based environment
- Demonstrated expertise managing elementary-level caseloads
- Strong background working with AAC devices and strategies, particularly in self-contained classrooms
- Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, teachers, and families
- Onsite availability required for the entirety of the contract; remote or virtual placements are not eligible
Responsibilities
- Conduct assessments, develop treatment plans, and deliver therapy services tailored to individual student needs
- Implement AAC interventions for students with complex communication challenges
- Track and document progress, maintaining compliance with IEP and district guidelines
- Serve as a resource for classroom staff, providing training and recommendations to support AAC integration
- Contribute actively to IEP meetings and family communications
