This opportunity is for Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) with a strong background in school-based therapy, located in the Southeast Florida Coast region. The role involves providing critical evaluations and speech therapy services within public schools, specifically focusing on helping the district catch up on evaluation backlogs, with an emphasis on assessments for students with Autism.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive speech and language evaluations, particularly for Autism spectrum students.
  • Provide direct therapy services to students at assigned schools.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and school staff to support individualized education plans.
  • Manage caseloads across 1-2 school locations, depending on assignment.
  • Maintain compliance with school policies and documentation requirements.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Active SLP licensure is required.
  • Experience conducting evaluations for Autism students is essential.
  • Professional experience in a school setting is preferred.
  • Ability to work onsite full-time or part-time across multiple school locations.
  • Fingerprint clearance required, with potential to use existing Department of Health prints.

Location and Schedule:

  • Primary school locations include Oak Hammock K-8 in Port St. Lucie, FL (2 days/week), and CA Moore K-7 and FK Sweet Elementary in Ft. Pierce, FL (full-time or part-time split).
  • Oak Hammock is a DHH Cluster Site, supported by one full-time SLP and one full-time SLPA.
  • FK Sweet Elementary has a specialized ASD unit.
