This contract opportunity is ideal for a passionate Speech-Language Pathologist seeking to make a difference during a maternity leave period, primarily working with students in grades 5 through 8, but with some K-8 involvement. The role spans the upcoming school year, starting August 17, 2026, through November 27, 2026, with a manageable caseload of 15-20 students and approximately 32 hours each week.
Key Qualifications & Experience:
- Active Speech-Language Pathologist license (CCC-SLP) required
- Experience delivering school-based services, particularly with K-8 populations
- Strong communication, collaboration, and documentation abilities
- Ability to adapt therapeutic approaches to meet diverse student needs
- Previous maternity leave coverage or temporary school roles a plus
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct speech-language therapy and assessment to a targeted group of 5th-8th grade students, with some K-8 responsibilities as needed
- Develop, implement, and update individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Maintain accurate student records and progress notes according to school and state requirements
- Collaborate with general and special education teachers, administrators, and families to support student growth
- Participate in IEP meetings and consult on communication strategies within the school environment
- Attend new staff orientation and ongoing training sessions (schedule to be determined)
