Speech Language Pathologist in Chicago, IL
Step into a rewarding contract role supporting students in a vibrant school community just outside Chicago, IL. This position is ideal for an enthusiastic Speech-Language Pathologist ready to make a meaningful impact during a maternity leave assignment. With a well-defined caseload of 15-20 students, you’ll focus on K-8th grade services, with an emphasis on building skills and confidence among 5th through 8th graders.
Working roughly 22 hours per week (approximately three days, on-site), you’ll collaborate with dedicated educational staff to provide high-quality speech and language therapy. This environment values hands-on, in-person contributions—virtual applicants will not be considered at this time. The assignment runs from August 17, 2026, through November 27, 2026, with details on a comprehensive new staff training to be announced.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology required
- Active SLP license in Illinois
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred; Clinical Fellows are welcome
- Prior experience supporting K-8th students in a school setting is highly desirable
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct speech-language therapy to a caseload of 15-20 elementary and middle school students
- Conduct assessments, develop and update IEP goals, and document progress
- Collaborate with teachers, families, and interdisciplinary teams for student support
- Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and ongoing professional development as needed
