A wonderful opportunity awaits a dedicated Speech-Language Pathologist eager to make a difference in elementary education. This contract position offers full-time hours, providing important services at one school site near Elmira, NY. You’ll work 7:45am - 3:15pm, Monday through Friday, and be a vital part of the supportive school team from now until a direct placement is made.
Your expertise will shape a positive learning environment, helping elementary students build confidence in their communication skills.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Disorders
- Eligible for or possession of NY State licensure in Speech-Language Pathology
- ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) or Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) applicants welcome
- Previous experience with school-aged children preferred but not required
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to work on-site full time
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver speech and language therapy services to elementary school students
- Conduct assessments and develop individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, special educators, and families to support student progress
- Maintain records and document student growth per school and state guidelines
- Contribute to the positive learning environment through ongoing support and advocacy
