Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
- Valid state licensure as an SLP (or eligibility to obtain)
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) preferred; Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) candidates also welcome
- Previous experience in school-based settings or working with children highly valued
- Knowledge of pediatric speech, language, and communication disorders
- Excellent interpersonal skills, effective collaboration abilities, and cultural sensitivity
- Willingness to answer questions about working with SLPA (Speech-Language Pathology Assistants)
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver comprehensive speech and language therapy to students with varied communication needs
- Develop, implement, and update Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in close partnership with families and school staff
- Conduct formal and informal assessments to identify speech and language deficits, track progress, and adjust interventions accordingly
- Maintain accurate records and timely documentation to ensure compliance with district and state requirements
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, parent conferences, and professional development activities
- Communicate clearly and compassionately with parents, teachers, and colleagues, fostering an inclusive educational atmosphere
