Grades 9 - 12 Certified Speech Language Pathologist in Dobbs Ferry, NY
Step into a rewarding contract role supporting students’ communication needs in a dynamic school environment. You'll deliver critical speech-language pathology (SLP) services to a diverse student population ranging from elementary to high school, working with individuals ages 12-21. This opportunity spans from March 1st through June 1st, 2026, offering daytime hours, Monday through Friday, for a total of 25-30 hours a week (8:30am–2:30pm). There may be flexibility for teletherapy or hybrid approaches, making it even easier to make an impact.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid certification and licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist
- Demonstrated experience working with students in grades K-12, especially those between ages 12-21
- Proven success engaging and supporting resistant or reluctant youth
- Thorough understanding of IEP processes and mandated service requirements
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, staff, and families
Responsibilities:
- Deliver IEP-mandated SLP services to students across grades 6–12, with potential extension to younger students depending on caseload needs
- Collaborate with educational teams to develop, implement, and monitor individualized therapy plans
- Utilize engaging, effective strategies to encourage participation among students facing motivational or behavioral challenges
- Document progress, maintain compliance records, and participate in IEP meetings as needed
- Foster a supportive, inclusive, and positive learning environment across all modes of service delivery—including potential teletherapy or hybrid setups
