Grades K - 5 Grades 6 - 8 Speech Language Pathologist in New York, NY
Step into a rewarding contract position serving school-aged youth in a vibrant educational setting near New York, NY. This opportunity focuses on providing impactful speech-language services to students ranging from ages 12 to 21, supporting their growth and helping them access their curriculum more effectively. With a manageable schedule of 25-30 hours per week, Monday through Friday, from 8:30am to 2:30pm, you’ll have the chance to make a meaningful difference during the school day with time left for work-life balance. The role spans from March 1, 2026 through June 1, 2026, offering a fulfilling and structured experience for the school year.
Qualifications and Experience Sought:
- Current speech-language pathology certification and licensure required
- Demonstrated experience supporting students in grades K-12, especially grades 6-12
- Proven track record working with youth who may be resistant to services or interventions
- Deep understanding of IEP mandates and documentation procedures
- Comfortable with technology, with openness to teletherapy or hybrid service delivery
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Deliver IEP-mandated speech-language therapy services to students ages 12-21
- Collaborate effectively with educational teams to support student progress and goal achievement
- Maintain detailed, compliant documentation for all services provided
- Engage with students using positive, adaptable techniques—even with those who are initially resistant
- Communicate with parents, caregivers, and staff to ensure continuity of care
