Step into a rewarding contract opportunity working with an engaged and diverse student population in an educational setting near Bronx, NY. These positions offer the chance to make a significant impact with students ages 5 to 21, including those diagnosed with autism, across a variety of grade levels (K-12). Three roles are currently available: a full-time opening, a flexible part-time role (2-3 days per week), and a maternity leave assignment anticipated to run July through October.
What You’ll Bring:
- Current certification as a Speech-Language Pathologist, with eligibility to practice in educational environments
- Experience supporting students in Grades K-5, 6-8, and/or 9-12
- Familiarity with individualized and group therapy sessions
- Preferred background working with students on the autism spectrum and comfort with augmentative/alternative communication (AAC) devices such as TouchChat, LAMP, or Proloquo
- Strong documentation, reporting, and communication skills
Your Day-to-Day Contributions:
- Provide high-quality individual and group speech/language sessions, approximately 10 per day, focusing on students with diverse and complex communication needs
- Complete daily treatment notes, quarterly progress reports, annual progress reports, and draft IEP documentation
- Participate in monthly self-audits of notes and attendance (CM2)
- Effectively collaborate with staff and families to promote student progress
- Work scheduled hours typically from 8:30AM to 2:00PM, with a half-hour daily lunch break (unpaid)
