School-Based Speech Language Pathologist | Des Plaines, Illinois
Step into a rewarding opportunity supporting PreK students in a positive, collaborative environment! This full-time contract position is designed to cover a maternity leave from early to mid-October through March, working with enthusiastic learners ages 3 to 5 across two schools with robust PreK programs. You’ll have the chance to make a meaningful difference during a critical period in these children’s early development.
Bring your expertise in speech-language pathology to work alongside a dedicated team in a split schedule across both sites. The position features a vibrant team-based approach to evaluations and offers chances for collaborative growth, especially for those with experience in Transdisciplinary Play Based Assessment. Spanish language skills are a plus in serving the diverse student body, but dedication, flexibility, and a passion for early childhood support matter most.
Desired Skills & Experience:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology or similar field
- Hold or eligible for CCC-SLP or in CFY year
- Experience with early childhood populations, specifically ages 3-5
- Familiarity or experience with team-based, play-focused assessments preferred
- Spanish speaking ability is advantageous, though not required
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to work effectively across two nearby PreK sites
Role Responsibilities:
- Deliver therapy and interventions to PreK students in both locations
- Participate actively in transdisciplinary evaluation teams
- Collaborate closely with teachers, aides, and support staff
- Monitor student progress and contribute to individualized education plans
- Engage families and staff in supporting children’s communication growth
