Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) in Des Plaines, IL
Step into a rewarding opportunity supporting K-5 students as a bilingual Speech-Language Pathologist on a full-time contract basis. This role, located near Des Plaines, IL, focuses on fostering communication skills and language development in a diverse elementary caseload. Qualifications & Experience:
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Sciences & Disorders
- Current SLP license in Illinois
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (SLP-CCC) or eligibility for Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY)
- Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English (required)
- Previous experience working with K-5 students preferred
- Knowledge of school-based therapy delivery and IEP process
- Strong organizational and communication skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct speech, language, and communication assessments for K-5 students
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on IEP goals
- Provide direct and consultative speech-language therapy, both individually and in small groups
- Maintain accurate records of student progress, documentation, and IEP participation
- Collaborate actively with teachers, families, and multidisciplinary school staff
- Deliver parent and teacher education to promote strategies supporting language development
- Adapt therapy approaches to meet the culturally and linguistically diverse needs of students
