SLP in Des Plaines, IL
This position seeks a skilled Speech Language Pathologist to provide onsite support in a school setting located in Des Plaines, IL. The role involves working a 37.5-hour week, delivering speech and language services to a diverse caseload of 20-40 students from kindergarten through 5th grade, including those with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), cerebral palsy, learning disabilities, and other speech and language challenges. The service model primarily uses push-in strategies to integrate support within the classroom environment.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct speech and language evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans tailored to student needs
- Deliver direct services using a push-in model to support students with speech and language impairments within the classroom
- Collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to promote communication development and support education goals
- Maintain accurate documentation of student progress and compliance with school policies and IDEA regulations
- Participate in professional development and utilize guidance from the Clinical Advisory Team
Qualifications:
- Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with an endorsement in Speech Language Pathology
- Experience working in school settings with K-5 students, including those with ASD, cerebral palsy, and learning disabilities
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to engage effectively with students, educators, and families
- Ability to manage a caseload of 20-40 students efficiently within a 37.5-hour workweek
