Step into a dynamic hybrid role supporting students and educational teams as a Speech-Language Pathologist. This contract position offers both in-person and remote flexibility, allowing you to make a meaningful impact while maintaining work-life balance. You’ll collaborate directly with staff and families to provide exceptional assistive technology (AT) support and speech-language services.
In this unique opportunity, you will support a high school student utilizing eye gaze technology (Accent device) for communication, requiring on-site presence at the school campus for AT device programming, calibration, and maintenance up to two hours each week. The remaining hours will be spent engaging in virtual duties such as conducting evaluations for private school referrals and facilitating communication and documentation with parents.
What you’ll bring:
- Current Speech-Language Pathologist license from the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from ASHA with documentation of completed hours
- Proven experience with assistive technology, specifically programming and maintaining eye gaze devices
- Strong communication skills for collaborating with educators and families
- Ability to efficiently organize paperwork and follow administrative processes for referrals
- Experience working with students in school settings, preferably high school
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct AT support for a student—including in-person programming, calibration, and maintenance of an eye gaze ACCENT device
- Conduct intakes with parents, explaining and collecting private school referral paperwork
- Track, document, and process evaluation referrals and communications
- Complete virtual administrative tasks related to private school student referrals
- Foster collaborative relationships with educational staff and families
You’ll enjoy a predictable hybrid schedule—two hours on-site each week, with the balance spent working remotely for a total of 20 hours per week.
