Pediatric Speech Language Pathologist in Conneaut, OH
A specialized charter school serving students with Autism is seeking a contract Speech-Language Pathologist to provide impactful care within a small, supportive environment. The school features a 1:2 staff-to-student ratio and currently serves approximately 30 students, with enrollment potentially growing to 45. The position spans two locations just minutes apart, nestled in the scenic Grand River Valley near Lake Erie—offering beautiful surroundings, abundant outdoor recreation, and picturesque covered bridges.
As part of a multidisciplinary team, the selected SLP will work primarily with K-12 students (about 25 to 30 on caseload), collaborating with occupational therapists and facilitating social/pragmatics groups. Students are served via both individual and group sessions, with many utilizing augmentative communication systems such as Proloquo2Go and LAMP. This supportive environment provides an opportunity to make a difference in a very engaged, low-incidence caseload setting.
Key Qualifications:
- Active SLP-CCC and licensure, or ability to obtain Ohio SLP license/ODE credentials
- Experience in pediatric SLP, especially in school or healthcare settings
- Familiarity with augmentative communication devices (AAC) like Proloquo2Go and LAMP
- Prior work with students with Autism preferred
- Medicaid billing experience is ideal, as a majority of students are eligible
- Interest in co-treating with OT and leading group sessions
- Must be onsite; teletherapy is not available for this role
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide direct speech therapy to students across two small nearby sites
- Deliver services individually and in groups, focusing on communication and social/pragmatic skills development
- Collaborate closely with other clinicians and school staff
- IEPs/evaluations not required unless connected to Medicaid billing for the student
