School Speech Language Pathologist - Chicopee, Massachusetts
Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting high school students as a Speech-Language Pathologist in a specialized, student-centered program designed for youth with Autism Spectrum Disorders and other learning differences. The assignment is scheduled for the 2026–2027 school year (dates tentative, subject to district calendar), with work based in Ludlow, MA. The caseload centers on the Compass High Program, housed within a high school environment renowned for its supportive and collaborative approach. The position includes oversight of an SLPA, offering the chance to both deliver direct services and provide professional mentorship.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Active state licensure meeting all requirements for practice as a Speech-Language Pathologist in schools
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP)
- Demonstrated experience with high school students, preferably in specialized or autism-focused settings
- Proficiency with AAC devices, including assessment, recommendation, and student training
- Prior experience supervising or mentoring an SLPA is a plus
- Commitment to fostering independence and personalized growth in students
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop individualized therapy plans for high school students in a non-traditional educational setting
- Integrate AAC strategies and tools into student communication goals
- Provide direct speech-language services and monitor student progress
- Supervise and collaborate with a talented SLPA
- Maintain thorough, compliant documentation and participate in IEP meetings
- Work closely with a multi-disciplinary team to support holistic student development
