School Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) | Chicago, Illinois
Embark on a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students within an Adaptive Behavior Learning Environment (ABLE program), just outside Chicago, IL. This full-time role consists of 32.5 hours weekly, with a schedule of 8:00am–3:00pm and a half-hour unpaid lunch. You'll have the chance to make a significant impact by providing speech-language services to students in a dynamic school setting.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or related field
- Valid state licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP)
- Previous experience in school-based or pediatric settings preferred
- Familiarity with individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Excellent communication skills for collaborating with students, teachers, and families
- Strong organizational abilities and adaptability in diverse learning environments
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess, diagnose, and provide direct therapy to students with speech, language, and communication needs
- Develop and implement IEP goals, adapting strategies to meet a variety of learning needs within the ABLE program
- Collaborate with special education staff, teachers, and parents to create supportive interventions
- Document student progress, maintain accurate records, and participate in team meetings
- Offer training and resources to staff to better support students’ communication in the classroom
