Pediatric School Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) | Chicago, Illinois
Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students as a Speech-Language Pathologist covering an FMLA leave near Chicago, IL. In this full-time position, you’ll work 35 hours per week with set hours from 7:45am to 3:15pm. The assignment is expected to start August 17, 2026 and continue until mid-September (with potential for a one-week extension during the transition period).
You’ll make a meaningful impact by working primarily with 9th graders preparing for transition, along with students in grades 6 to 8 across both middle and high school settings. Your expertise will be essential in conducting initial assessments and re-evaluations, collaborating with educators and families to develop and implement effective intervention plans.
Desired Skills & Experience:
- ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) required
- Previous experience in a school-based setting preferred
- Strong background in pediatric and adolescent speech-language pathology
- Experience with both healthcare-related SLP services and educational models
- Ability to manage a diverse caseload and communicate effectively with students, families, and school staff
- Commitment to fostering a supportive, inclusive atmosphere for every learner
Role Responsibilities:
- Complete comprehensive initial and re-evaluations for assigned students
- Document progress and participate in IEP meetings as needed
- Develop tailored intervention plans addressing student needs

- Serve as a resource for staff and families regarding communication support strategies
