Make an impact supporting students from Early Childhood through 8th grade as a contract Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) for the upcoming school year near Chicago. Step into a collaborative setting, working alongside another SLP to serve a diverse caseload of approximately 70 students. This is an onsite-only opportunity, providing direct engagement with students and school staff to foster communication skills and positive outcomes.
What We’re Looking For:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- Valid IL Professional Educator License (PEL)
- Current Speech-Language Pathology license from IDFPR
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) required
- Previous experience in a school setting or with pediatric populations preferred
- Ability to work onsite; virtual/remote options are not available
- ISBE number required for application consideration
What You’ll Do:
- Serve students across Early Childhood to 8th grade with a dynamic caseload jointly managed with another SLP
- Assess, diagnose, and develop individualized treatment plans for students with speech, language, and communication disorders
- Collaborate with teachers, families, and allied professionals to support student progress
- Document student progress and participate in IEP meetings
- Uphold district and union standards throughout the contract period (August to May)
- Adapt your approach to meet evolving district needs and participate in proactive planning
