Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) in Des Plaines, IL
Make a direct impact on K-12 students as a school-based Speech-Language Pathologist. You’ll work a consistent weekday schedule from 7:45 am to 3:15 pm supporting students whose needs and caseload sizes may vary throughout the school year.
Qualifications:
- Valid Illinois SLP credential required
- Previous experience in educational settings preferred
- Familiarity with augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) devices
- Ability to implement low-incidence programming for students with intensive needs
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
Responsibilities:
- Deliver speech and language therapy services to K-12 students in alignment with IEP goals
- Assess, develop, and implement individualized therapy plans
- Provide expertise and strategies related to AAC for students requiring alternative communication methods
- Adapt programming for low-incidence populations as needed
- Work collaboratively with teachers, classroom aides, and interdisciplinary teams
- Maintain timely and accurate documentation according to school and legal guidelines
- Communicate regularly with families and staff to support student progress
