Essential Qualifications:
- Valid Illinois Speech-Language Pathology certification
- Experience or familiarity with Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) systems
- Background supporting students with low-incidence disabilities is highly valued
- Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to adapt therapy techniques for K-12 students across a variety of developmental levels
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct and consultative speech-language therapy to a varied caseload of students, tailoring approaches to individual needs
- Develop and implement individualized education program (IEP) goals with input from teachers, families, and multidisciplinary teams
- Document progress and maintain compliance with all district, state, and federal regulations
- Utilize AAC devices and other assistive technology to support student communication
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute insights for comprehensive student support plans
- Serve as a resource to educators and parents by sharing expertise and training as needed
