Speech Language Pathologist in Calumet City, IL
Step into an engaging and collaborative contract opportunity for school-based Speech-Language Pathologists in the vibrant community near Calumet City, IL. Working onsite only, you’ll partner with another SLP to support a district-wide caseload of approximately 70 students. Cases are thoughtfully split—45 students for one full-time SLP and 25 students for a part-time (.5 FTE) SLP. The role is set on a flexible academic calendar starting in mid-August and concluding in late May, with 33.75 hours per week.
Key Qualifications:
- Active Illinois PEL (Professional Educator License) and Speech-Language Pathologist credential from IDFPR.
- ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC) required.
- Previous experience supporting school-aged populations, ideally across a range of grade levels, EC-8th.
- Strong communication and documentation skills.
- Commitment to working onsite; virtual or remote arrangements not available.
- Willingness to follow union protocols, including potential interview scheduling in May.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct and consultative speech-language therapy services to individually assigned students.
- Conduct assessments, develop IEP goals, and maintain accurate records in compliance with district regulations.
- Collaborate with fellow SLPs, teachers, and families to promote optimal outcomes.
- Participate in IEP meetings, evaluations, and educational planning.
- Uphold professional standards aligned with Illinois and district requirements.
