Step into a rewarding contract opportunity as a School-Based Speech-Language Pathologist serving early learners in a vibrant educational setting near Chicago, IL. This leave-of-absence assignment spans October to January, primarily supporting preschoolers, with the potential to serve students up to 2nd grade. In this caseload model position, you’ll collaborate with education professionals to deliver targeted speech and language interventions, conduct comprehensive assessments, and drive meaningful progress through individualized education plans (IEPs).
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Illinois SLP-CCC credential
- Active Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL)
- Previous experience with preschool and elementary-aged children preferred
- Comfort with both direct services and virtual (teletherapy) delivery
- Strong knowledge of IEP development, assessment, and documentation protocols
- Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) candidates considered
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct speech and language therapy to students, focusing on individualized goals
- Conduct evaluations and assessments as required for new and ongoing students
- Develop and implement IEPs tailored to each student’s unique strengths and needs
- Engage with teachers, parents, and multidisciplinary teams to optimize student outcomes
- Maintain thorough and timely documentation of services, progress, and compliance
- Adapt service delivery to meet students’ needs, utilizing both in-person and teletherapy models if necessary
Scheduling & Assignment Details:
- 8:00 a.m. – 3:15 p.m., Monday through Friday
- 33.75 hours per week, contract position
- Immediate availability with fast-track interview process via Zoom
