Pediatric Speech Language Pathologist in Bolingbrook, IL
Make a meaningful impact supporting young learners as a school-based Speech-Language Pathologist during a leave-of-absence assignment running from October through January. This contract opportunity provides the chance to work with a caseload primarily consisting of preschoolers, with some students through 2nd grade, delivering vital speech and language services that set students up for lasting success.
You’ll conduct direct therapy, assessments, evaluations, and play a key role in IEP development, working closely within the framework of a caseload model. Your workdays will run weekdays from 8:00 a.m. to 3:15 p.m., totaling 33.75 hours per week. Flexibility, collaboration, and genuine passion for pediatric care are essential as you navigate the needs of a diverse range of students in a supportive school environment.
Desired Background and Skills:
- Valid Illinois SLP-CCC credential required
- Current Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL)
- Experience with pediatric populations in an educational, healthcare, or teletherapy setting
- Background providing direct therapy, performing assessments/evaluations, and contributing to IEPs
- Familiarity with the unique needs of preschool and primary-grade students
- Versatile communication and collaboration skills
- Comfortable adapting to the caseload model in school-based SLP services
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide speech and language therapy to preschool–2nd grade students
- Complete assessments and evaluations to support student needs
- Develop and implement effective IEPs in coordination with educational teams
- Maintain documentation and compliance with school and licensure standards
- Collaborate with educators, families, and related service professionals
