School Speech Language Pathologist - Cicero, Illinois
Located in Cicero, IL, this part-time contract opportunity offers a meaningful role delivering speech-language pathology services in a school setting during the Extended School Year (ESY) program. Working Monday through Thursday from 8:00 AM to 12:30 PM, for 17 hours per week, the position runs from June 10th through July 9th.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver speech-language therapy addressing assistive technology, augmentative communication, social language skills, articulation, voice, oral-motor function, feeding, and receptive/expressive language delays.
- Conduct diagnostic and evaluation testing as appropriate.
- Prepare clear, comprehensive reports based on student assessments and observations.
- Provide services to students aged 2 to 22 with moderate to severe disabilities.
- Develop and maintain Individualized Education Program (IEP) objectives aligned with student needs.
- Collaborate effectively with parents and colleagues to discuss student progress and areas in need of support.
Qualifications:
- Must hold or be qualified to hold an Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR) license and a Professional Educator License (PEL).
- Previous experience in school settings is a plus but not required.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
- Flexibility and problem-solving aptitude to adapt to student needs and program requirements.
