Step into a rewarding opportunity supporting students as a contract Speech Language Pathologist during the 2026-2027 school year. This role offers a vibrant work environment, collaborating with children across multiple age groups and grade levels. As a vital team member, you will help students with a variety of needs—primarily OHI, learning disabilities, autism, and language impairments—by delivering expert, in-person services outside the general education setting.

Bring your clinical skills, passion for student success, and dedication to meaningful progress as you manage a fluid caseload of approximately 45-50 students. This is a full-time, in-person position, running the length of the 26-27 academic year.

Qualifications:

  • Active and current Maryland Speech Language Pathologist license or certification required
  • Experience working within school settings with diverse student populations strongly preferred
  • Solid foundation in assessment, intervention, and documentation for a range of communicative needs
  • Strong understanding of IEP processes and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
  • Reliable attendance and commitment to a full-time schedule, 5 days per week (37.5 hours weekly)
  • Flexibility to work with different disability categories and age groups
  • Comfort working onsite; remote or virtual services are not available

Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct speech-language therapy to students in a separate setting from the general education classroom
  • Conduct assessments, develop and implement individualized treatment plans, and consult with educators and families
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation for all services provided
  • Monitor progress and adjust interventions as needed
  • Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to goal development
  • Serve as a resource for staff regarding communication strategies
