School-Based Speech-Language Pathologist - Portland, Oregon
Shape student success by supporting learners as a Speech-Language Pathologist in Oregon's schools. We are seeking two skilled Oregon-licensed SLPs for contract roles providing crucial services to students with language impairments. Both positions are full-time opportunities, but flexibility is available for candidates interested in less than a 1.0 FTE for position two, which covers multiple sites within Multnomah County. Virtual assignments and SLPA roles are not available.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Current Oregon licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP-CCC, SLP)
- Experience in school-based or pediatric settings preferred
- Expertise in speech and language assessment, IEP development, and therapy for school-aged populations
- Strong collaboration skills for effective teamwork with educators, families, and related professionals
- Commitment to equity, student-centered vision, and ongoing program improvement
- Strong written and oral communication abilities
- Ability to supervise Speech-Language Pathology Assistant staff
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess student performance, screen referrals, and provide direct intervention for speech, language, and hearing needs
- Customize and implement AAC systems to support diverse communication needs
- Lead and participate in multidisciplinary meetings to develop and execute IEPs
- Coach and provide guidance to staff and teachers for AAC system integration
- Develop program materials, document progress, and monitor student outcomes
- Conduct outreach with parents, caregivers, and agencies to align services
- Maintain all necessary documentation and reports, including Medicaid billing compliance
- Participate in ongoing professional development and required department meetings
