Speech Language Pathologist in Augusta, KS
Embark on a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students by providing speech-language pathology services for a part-time maternity leave coverage. This role is based on-site, working with a diverse group of students in a collaborative and dynamic high school environment.
This position is scheduled for three days per week — Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday — with flexibility for approximately 20 hours weekly, depending on the time needed to complete all responsibilities. The contract runs from early October to late December, with an opportunity to start 1–2 weeks early for shadowing and a smooth transition before the start of maternity leave.
Key Qualifications and Skills:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- Current Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP)
- Licensed to practice as an SLP in educational settings within Kansas
- Experience working in schools, particularly with a caseload of varied student needs
- Organized, communicative, and adaptable to a school schedule and caseload
- References must be available and ready at the time of the interview
Primary Responsibilities:
- Manage a caseload of approximately 46 students
- Deliver direct and consultative SLP services, supporting student learning and communication goals
- Complete required documentation and progress tracking in compliance with school and state regulations
- Collaborate with staff and families to maximize student outcomes
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to IEP development
- Initiate service continuity by shadowing the current SLP prior to the start date
