Speech Language Pathologist in Haysville, KS
Step into a valuable part-time contract opportunity supporting student success in a dynamic high school setting. This assignment centers on providing Speech-Language Pathology services during a maternity leave coverage, offering three days of work per week at Derby High School. As the incoming provider, you’ll have a seamless transition, with the opportunity to shadow the current SLP for 1-2 weeks before officially taking over the caseload.
Key Qualifications:
- Active SLP licensure and ASHA CCC credential
- Prior experience in school settings, specifically with school-aged populations
- Familiarity with direct therapy, consultative models, and collaborative student support
- Strong communication skills and the ability to tailor interventions for diverse student needs
- Professional references available for interview process
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a caseload of approximately 46 students
- Deliver both direct therapy (totaling approximately 750 hours) and consultative services (1,085 hours)
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other support staff to develop and implement IEP goals
- Complete comprehensive and timely documentation as required by school policies
- Participate in IEP meetings and provide progress updates
- Maintain compliance with both state and district requirements
Assignment Details:
- Part-time for the duration of the leave: anticipated from October 4, 2026, to December 23, 2026
- Schedule: Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays (about 20 hours weekly, may vary)
- In-person service delivery; no teletherapy (NO VOCO)
- Flexibility to begin 1-2 weeks early to ensure a smooth transition
