School-Based Speech Language Pathologist - Amherst, Massachusetts

This contract assignment offers a unique opportunity to work within an innovative setting dedicated to students with Autism Spectrum Disorders and other learning differences. You’ll play a vital role by providing speech-language services, collaborating with a talented team, and supporting student growth in essential life skills through the Compass High Program.
Key Qualifications
- Hold current state licensure/certification as an SLP-CCC
- Experience working in school-based settings, specifically with high school students
- Proficient with Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) devices
- Comfortable supervising and mentoring an SLPA
- Strong teamwork, adaptability, and communication abilities
- Familiarity with specialized curriculum or autism support preferred
Primary Responsibilities
- Deliver direct speech and language therapy tailored to individual education plans
- Oversee SLPA work and provide guidance and support
- Develop and implement intervention strategies for students with ASD or other learning needs
- Maintain thorough records, documentation, and progress reports
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to collaborative planning
- Communicate regularly with families, teachers, and program staff
- Foster an inclusive, respectful learning environment
